of its QNX Neutrino real-time operating system (RTOS). QNX has made
source code for its award-winning, microkernel-based OS available for
free download. The first source release includes the code to the QNX
Neutrino microkernel, the base C library, and a variety of board
support packages (BSPs) for popular embedded and computing hardware.
-- Nordic Semiconductor (http://www.nordicsemi.no/) and ANT ANTDKT3

Development Kit. By using the kit, engineers avoid the design
complexity traditionally associated with wireless sensor networking and
are able to build a functioning 2.4GHz wireless sensor network within

-- Quadros Systems' (http://www.quadros.com/) VisualRTXC design tool. This
powerful visual design environment works with the RTXC Quadros RTOS to
dramatically reduce development time for embedded systems. It offers a
highly intuitive user interface and high-level intelligent design
objects that are tightly coupled to the underlying kernel architecture.
The result is an easy-to-use, powerful design tool that allows the
developer to rapidly move between design concepts and generated C code.
-- Renesas (http://www.renesas.com/) and Express Logic's ThreadX
(http://www.rtos.com/) operating system platform has been ported to
SH-2A series 32-bit microcontrollers, enabling fast-response control
for embedded system applications. ThreadX now supports the SH-2A series
MCUs, providing a high-performance operating platform for applying
these fast, powerful devices in embedded systems.
-- Ampro Computers, Inc.'s (http://www.ampro.com/) RuffSystem embedded
computer based on the industry's most rugged EBX SBC. Because the
LittleBoard 800 Pentium M SBC is rugged by design, the resulting
RuffSystem computer is truly rugged. This announcement means that
system OEMs in military, transportation, avionics, and factory
automation markets can speed their time-to-market by using a
fully-integrated subsystem up to 1.4 GHz rather than designing their
own subsystem.
